A business partner who shares the profits but refuses to share the responsibility is not a partner worth keeping

20+ Years in International Trade: A Lesson Learned

After more than 20 years in international trade, one lesson has become clear to us:

Never choose a business partner who is unwilling to share responsibility when problems arise.

No business relationship can go far without mutual support, accountability, and a shared commitment to solving problems. True partnerships are not tested when everything goes smoothly, but when challenges arise and both sides must decide whether to stand together and take responsibility.

Responsibility and accountability should be among the first things we consider when choosing suppliers and customers. If either party lacks these qualities, it may be better to walk away, regardless of whether they are a supplier or a customer.

A successful partnership is not about avoiding problems. It is about facing them together, finding solutions together, and growing together.

That is how trust is built, long-term relationships are sustained, and true win-win partnerships are achieved.
